I have been straight shaving for about 55 shaves and am loving it. I have exclusively used my Omega 63171 Stripey Badger brush but am ready for an addition to the barn. According to Amazon, the specs on it are approx: height: 98 mm. loft: 50 mm. knot: 23 mm.
What I like about the Omega:
Good at soap lathering.
Lathers decently well on the face and holds a decent amount of lather.
What I don't like about the Omega:
Bristles are a bit sharp and scratchy, particularly as an exclusive face latherer, and since I have sensitive skin.
I suspect higher grade brushes could hold even more lather for multiple passes.
I want to continue face lathering exclusively, I have large hands, I want something softer but still with backbone. I wouldn't mind a bigger, fatter brush. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anything else I should consider?
Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks! (Fire away if I forgot anything important.)
