Managed to buy a Duke 2 2-band and picked up a Special in Best today, both pre MAP.

Shaving.ie bumped up the price of the Duke 2 2-band from 139€ (which I bought it for) to 159€ and when I checked today to 165€... :a47: :cursing:

Hi German since you have quite a number of Simpsons 2 banded brushes. What are your top three favorite brushes out of all?
If comparing the 2 banded Duke 3, Chubby 1 and Chubby 2 performance for face lather only. How do you rank them?
Thanks.

I would rank the Duke 3 above the Chubby 2 above the Chubby 1. The Duke 3 is the perfect balance of size, density, flow through. All three have equally soft tips. I like the Chubby 1 the least so far because of its shape: it is so pointy that because of its density you only feel a few hairs on your face making it almost uncomfortable. I will use it a few more times and see if the knot opens up a bit more or otherwise BST...

Now as it relates to the other Simpson 2 Bands I have I would pick the Duke, the Chubby 2, the E3 and the PJ 2 as my favorites. Hope this helps.

Thank you German.
Too bad Simpsons decided to stop sending out 2 banded to vendors and their huge price hike is a real a big shock to consumers. It will be very costly to get the 2 banded directly from them.

How about the Tulip and 58?
Thought both of them have the most ergonomic handles? Many people love their handles. Why are they not in the top of your list?
Especially the Tulip, the handle shape is so distinctive.
Thanks.

My T3 is very similar to the Chubby 2 in terms of size and density. It has very white tips and thus aesthetically is one of most appealing brushes. So I guess there is not much difference between the two if you get one with a lower loft as mine is (26/52mm). The 58 is very nice ... A bit denser/stiffer than the Duke 3.
This is all very relative. You asked me for the top 3 and those would be the D3, Chubby 2 and either E3 or PJ2 because they are distinctly different. However, without them I would be very happy with the T3 and 58.
The only one I can currently not recommend is the Chubby 1 for the reason mentioned.

Looks like shaving.ie got some more Duke 3 2-bands in, but they are now over $190. If I remember right, last week they were $157. That puts a Simpson 2-band out of my reach. Now deciding between options 2 & 3.

That Chubby is a beautiful looking brush.

The increment is real Huge.
There are so many nice brushes out there we can get with that amount of money.
