Hi all, Elliot from Washington here. Just getting started with straight razors and kamisori. I’m a long-time Japanese knife collector and have a good amount of Japanese natural stones and am comfortable using them.
Just ordered some soap, a brush and have a friend restoring a vintage strop.
But the razor(s)!!!
I can tend to be that person that always chases the best and the historic (something I bring from the knife world no doubt), but it’s time.
I can buy a new Iwasaki, which is a name I’m certainly familiar with. Would love a western style one or tamahagane. Open to suggestios and best places to look!
