Went with the ATT Al SE1 + Schick Proline P blade combination tor my shave today. The SE1 head is pretty much the same size as the X1 Slant. Much lighter, of course, due to the SE1 Aluminum construction.
Here is where the SE1 + Proline stacks up on my required attributes:

• Efficiency: Between medium and high. A comfortable level of efficiency. Not quite as efficient as the X1 Slant.
• Smoothness: Medium. Comfortable, but less smooth than the X1 Slant.
• Nimble & Maneuverable: Medium+. More N&M than the X1 Slant
• Predictable: Medium+. Comparable to the X1 Slant.
• Overall Effectiveness: Medium/High. Another outstanding razor that provides excellent to superb results.

So how does the Al SE1 compare to the X1 Slant? I could shave with the ATT X1 Slant + Schick Proline P blade daily. The Al SE1 + Schick Proline P is ever so close, but I'm giving the (slight) nod to the X1 Slant - but the Al SE1 is also joining the AC Big Dogs!

Today's shave with the ATT Al SE1, Schick Proline P blade combination was superb!

I tried the Schick Proline P in my X1 today. After repeated tries in my Claymore Evo, I could never get it work for me. I had the exact same thing with the X1. I have no idea why this blade and I don't get along. The Proline isn't smooth.... tugs at the whiskers, no matter what angle I try. I put in a Kai Captain Protouch... perfect shave and this was its 4th use.

I'll end up PIFfing the Prolines to someone along the way. It's a shame really. I bought two packages of them, as I've mentioned before, because so many people, David included, love them. I really can't explain it. They really should work brilliantly in both the Claymore and X1 for me... but they just don't.

Edit: I was busy yesterday and didn't get my every other day shave in... so I had 3 days of growth today. Not sure if that makes a huge difference or not.

As you know, the only AC razor I've used so far is the Razorock aluminum Hawk and the Schick Proline blades. It's all I've tried and so far the Schick blades have been fantastic. Saved 2 days of growth to try them out last night and it was great. I'm looking forward to seeing how they work with the X1. But of course I'm sure I'll buy and try others too!

Blades do make a difference. There are DE blades brands that many folks rave about that just flat don't work for me. Everyone has their own combination of face, skin and whiskers.

For purposes of comparison, here is where the Ti Vector SB measures on my required attributes:
Efficiency: Between medium and high. Comfortably efficient.
Smoothness: Highly smooth. Really comfortable.
Nimble & Maneuverable: Exceptionally high. The sports car of razors.
Predictable: Exceptionally high. Complete control.
Overall Effectiveness: High+++. An outstanding razor that provides superb or higher results every time I use it!

Folks should not overlook them because they are inexpensive and widely distributed. As long as we are talking about value, the RazoRock Hive Mokasoft HD Synthetic brush is a particular favorite of mine that is also an excellent value.

All four of these razors are eminently suitable and capable as my Daily Driver. The General edges out the X1 due to better nimble and maneuverable attributes performance. The Vectors edge out The General and the X1 due to superior nimble and maneuverable attributes performance. The Ti Vector SB edges out the Stainless Vector SB due to better face feel - during and post-shave.

Shaving with the ATT X1 Slant is a pleasure, size and weight notwithstanding. The X1 has earned a place in my top group of AC blade razors, all of which can be used as Daily Drivers.

I think y'all know my very positive opinion of the AP Shave Co White + 26mm G5C Fan!

Quick note regarding the WSP Rustic Tobacco soap: In my opinion, this soaps performance reminds me of my Martin de Candre soaps. A very high performing soap indeed!

The Aproxo Perfecto+ is an attempt to replicate Bootlegger's Perfecto Maduro using @danielrhall's Aproxo mix (which substitutes Crusellas Kolonia 1800 Tobacco for Vitos Colonia Tobacco since we can't get Vitos Colonia Tobacco in the USA) and adding the appropriate amount of Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve. I also added a bit of Sweet Tobacco perfume oil (still experimenting with this ingredient). Not overpowering at all. The Cuba Orange EdT Spray rounds everything out. All in all, the combination is a very pleasant scent.
