What's new

NETFLIX Queue is Empty!

... except for one wit a "very long wait" and some in my "saved" (aka "unavailable") queue.

So -- how about one or two recommendations from some of you?

I like a wide variety of styles: action/adventire, comedy, drama, musicals, noir, and probably others I can't think of right now.

To save some trouble, I have seen

  • every Coen Brothers movie
  • every James Bond movie
  • most Quentin Tarantino movies (I am thinking of adding Grindhouse)
  • most Jackie Chan movies (liked the older ones much better -- any with Anita Mui are my favorites.)
  • most of the Fox Noir series (except for recent releases, but they seem to be grasping at straws for the last few I saw)
There are no recent (last year or so) releases I care for that I haven't already seen.

If you like the Coen Brothers you must like a clever script. I suggest checking out some of the films with scripts by Charlie Kaufman. In order, I would recommend:

Adaptation
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Being John Malkovich

You are right. I would like those. As a matter of fact, I do like them -- already seen!

Start with Season 1 and don't complain about the lack of sleep

Watched the past 3 seasons and liked it, except I think it is going down hill this last season. I suspect the first few seasons are the best - going on the queue.

Add the Grindhouse series if you are a Tarantino fan. Some recent that I enjoyed also.

I Am Legend
Body of Lies
Taken
Gran Tarino

I'll second 3:10 to Yuma

Das Boot was good, especially with the English subtitles. I think it was 4 or 6 hours long so that should occupy you for awhile.

Do it! They are amazing! It's a shame you can't get the proper experience with the DVDs. I am so thankful I saw the movie in theaters.

True! I love that movie! The original is probably also good, although I've never seen it.

May I suggest Cronos? Very interesting take on vampires.
