When he does buy them we can say, well we told you so but you didn't listen.
He probably has, as he hasn't replied to any post.

Finally someone said Williams. I've figured out the lather and now my drawer full of artisan soaps remains shut. Plus it's cheaper than vdh.Tabac
Haslinger
MWF
Williams
While anything is controversial around here, when comparing value to performance, they are in the game.
Haslinger it is for me.Great list! I would also add La Toja if you wish to consider a stick!

Are you satisfied with van der hagen?Gentlemen: I just began using my last puck of Van der Hagen soap. I am considering the Vermont Country Store's shaving soap pucks (3 for $10.99). Have any of you used them? Their customer satisfaction contains mostly favorable comments.
This. Are you satisfied with van der hagen?
If you are, why not just add a aftershave you like to kick it up a notch?
List all your VDH experiments here....
From time to time I read posts about manipulations people do with VDH; spiking it with Old Spice, etc., etc. Maybe we can get a few of them into this thread, just for fun. Also, tell us if your experiment was a success or a failure. I'll start. I took a puck of VDH Select, melted it in...www.badgerandblade.com
Sheep milk is my favorite, lathers well, scent very subtle and not dominant, good post shave feeling.Excellent choice! They have eight scents and all perform!!

Stater Bros has Williams Mug Soap on the shelf for $1.49 a puckCheck the local drug stores and small grocery stores for shaving soap. You may find Wiiliams at low cost.
Once you get modern Williams figured out, grate a puck WMS with half a bar of Dove Shea Butter hand soap, very hard to beat the performance to price ratio.............Finally someone said Williams. I've figured out the lather and now my drawer full of artisan soaps remains shut. Plus it's cheaper than vdh.
My sense of smell must be off then. I love Arko stick's. The only soap I've used in years. I love it and I just don't get my people think it's smells nasty. That's funny, I get more of a "stick your head in a janitor's mop bucket" smell from Arko. Great way to start the day...
Sorry, @Yukonmark , I was just making a joke at Arko's expense. The scent is actually OK, just not my favorite. My sense of smell must be off then. I love Arko stick's...
@Yukonmark , are you from Turkey originally? Do you know if the scent of Arko is similar to some kinds of Turkish kolonya? I have not been to Turkey, maybe I will someday....I just need to accept that people don't love it as much as I do
Good to know, thanks....The Arko soap does have a very faint lemon Kolonya smell to it. More like Duru than Osmanli.
