My wife wants a good DE for herself. I provided her with a Super Speed but she decided she does want the longer handle. Any idea who makes a good quality NEW long handles DE with appeal to the fairer sex?

Call WCS and consult with the owners Wife she is expert on the topic of Women using a DE.
I don't know of a "modern" one but a Lady Gillette is pretty nice lookin'. Check the out e-bay for some or bst. Also check out the league of leg shavers here on B&B.

I got a NOS Schick L for my wife (the one in the can) as she would not touch a used razor with a ten feet pole.
For a DE, if there is a head that works well for her, you could probably contact one of the custom artisans(Elite razors, Rudy Vey etc) and ask them to make you an extra long handle, or if you have the skill and access to equipment, just buy the handle end thread (TGN sells them) and make one yourself.

About the longest handle (new) razors out there are going to be the Merkurs

This was my first new DE razor and I love it. Smooth as can be, easy to use. Throw an Astra sp in it and it'll shave you in your sleep
I Recommend a Merkur 180, It has a longer handle which is perfect for leg shaving.
