Need Help: What is a good aftershave balm that isn't sticky?

Can someone please recommend an aftershave balm that is not sticky?

I need something that dries fairly quickly, soothes the skin and doesn't leave a thick greasy oil field.

Thanks,

Dave

Nivea ASB is pretty light, doesn't dry sticky on me. Relatively cheap and easily accessible as well. What have you used so far?

Ive used Truefitt & Hill which leaves me very sticky and causes break outs.
I also tried Shea Butter which left me feeling like an oil slick.

I wonder if I should try eliminating a balm all together and just rinse off, apply Witchazel and then an Alcohol based splash?

What do you think?

I've found T&H to be on the thicker side of things. Do you tend to have dry skin? If so, the balm may be helping. If not, it might be an unnecessary step. Try without it for a couple days to see what ya like!

I've had really oily skin my whole life (I was even prescribed accutane for seven months) and tried various aftershave balms and gels and they all left me feelling oily and sticky. Once I switched to just an aftershave splash my skin was very tahnkful! I use Clubman more often than not and my skin has never felt better.

EDIT: I should add that AS splashes other than clubman leave my skin feeling jsut as good. I just rotate through them when I want a different scent or a menthol tingle.

Go to www.emsplace.com. You're looking for her aftershave soother and light moisture balm. Comes in a variety of scents (I like the bay rum), kills any razor burn or discomfort immediately, and absorbs well into the face. Without a doubt the best balm I've tried.

Not really a balm in the traditional sense, but the Speick after shave lotion is excellent. As well as containing the medicinal properties of the Speick plant, it also contains Witch Hazel. Has alcohol but it doesn't burn much at all, dries down nicely and has a great scent that lasts longer than most balms.

GFT skinfood is also very good and non greasy.

I have fairly oily skin, and I like the AoS balms. I use the unscented and Sandalwood. They dry quick and leave my face very smooth with somewhat of a matte finish. They are a bit pricey, but I enjoy them.

I have oily skin too, and I've found that witch hazel and alum work wonders. It even says something about controlling oil on the witch hazel bottle, and it works. I was surprised how well the alum does in keeping my skin non-oily for most of the day. Speick is probably my favorite splash, followed closely by Pinaud's bay rum, both of which have a decent amount of alcohol, and when combined with an alum rub before-hand, my face is less oily than it's ever been.

Good luck!

As Dustin mentioned, Nivea sensitive is the least "sticky" of all that I have tried (it is also the easiest to find as it is in most grocery stores in the US)

Again, try Sanex ... I have both, and I highly prefer that over the Nivea. The Nivea is less quickly absorbed into my skin.

Both of them are approximately the same price. Warning; the Sanex ASB contains a decent amount of alum, and is no good if your skin does not tolerate alum.

You might be using too much and your skin will won't absorb excess product, try reducing the amount of Balm to eliminate that sticky or oily feeling.

Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Post Shave Healer...light, easily absorbed, a little goes a long way, lightly scented, effective at relieving any residual razor irritation...did I leave
anything out??

This is what I used for YEARS before I found B&B. It never failed me.

However, I am now the biggest fan of Neutrogena post shave lotion. It kills any razor burn instantly, and leaves my skin feeling smoother than anything else I've used.
