I have a cheap poof from a big drug store. I let it soak in ot water for at least 30 seconds, and also soak the soap. Then I wring out the poof, and try to load the poof, letting any bubbly stuff fall off. That bubbly stuff's no good for showering with. The problem is, I can't get enough lather for a full pass.
Glycerin soaps seem to work okay. But I can't get much lather out of a goat's milk soap. Do I need a better poof? Maybe one with a denser knot? Is a smaller one better for milled soaps? Maybe I just need a better poof made with higher quality materials. What about size? I'd say this poof's about average. Does milled soap work best in a small poof?
Is there a better way to lather? I was thinking of trying skin lathering. Just rub the soap all over and then try to build the lather on my skin.
One last thing. I seem to have trouble with technique. I can poof alright in most places, but can't seem to master the lighter touch needed on more sensitive areas, particularly my face. Should I be using a less aggressive poof? Or is this something that just takes time to learn technique?
Any help appreciated.
