Need Help identifying this Wood

Sorry Steve, I don’t even have a guess, but it’s freakin’ beautiful. Being a small crosscut piece makes it even harder to identify than it otherwise would be.

I think it was from the box you sent me.
I know, the crosscut changes everything
but it was just so different I had to go that way.
Someone will chime in I am sure.
 
The only type it could be from what I sent is black walnut. The inside wood is a dark chocolate color.

It’s mesquite then, because it’s definitely not cedar or walnut and the chicipate was too small for a crosscut handle (unless you cut it in half & reglued it). Those were the only 4 types of wood I sent.
 
My God...you can make me a brush handle any day. That is gorgeous. I'm hoping to get a Bog Oak handle at some point. I'll mount my own brush to it so all I need is the handle lol.
