I just found this Gem push button in the wild, think the model name is contour. I was wondering when it was made, I am going to try my first SE shave this evening. Thanks in advance.

The Contour series was the last series of Gem single edge razors. The Contour dates from the 60's, the Contour II (with a 1912 style flip-open head) dates from the 70's.
There are no serial nos date codes etc. so it is difficult to get more specific than that.
The Contours are mild shavers.

I shaved with it for the 2nd time last night, pretty sure that the problem is the CVS blades. I ordered some gem stainless and PTFE from tryablade.com so back to the DE for now.
