They are dated in the order they appear in the AFTER pictures.
Blk handle S/4
Middle razor X/4
Flair tip D/4

I think I got a great deal on these, if anyone has anymore info on these please let me know. I'm wondering if the flair tip is a TV SPECIAL, and I'm curious about the X/4 model. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Also I cleaned them up in this order.
Scrubbing Bubbles,Nylon brush,
Hot water,Brass brush,
Silvo polish,soap and water,
Barbercide,hot water and polish cloth.

The TV Special 40's style was made in the first quarter of 1954 , then discontinued in the second quarter, and finally "re-released" in the third and fourth quarters.'54 was a re-issue of the standard 1940s style Super Speed, and is identified by date codes Z3 and Z4.

The '58 (D-1, D-4) was a regular flare-tip identified by its different knurling pattern on the handle. It came in a distinctive case with "TV" molded in the clear plastic cover.

Nice Alex,Thanks. I hope they shave well! I shall find out soon enough.

Looks like I have a 1952 X/4 , missed the TV by 2 years. I thought the 1952 models were the black tip styles due to the brass shortage.

They had steel handels and steel base plates with plastic knob due to the brass shortage ( Korean Conflict, WW2 ending) built their 1951 and 1952 Super Speeds with Steel or Aluminum handles, Nickle plated brass, or Steel heads, and most with black plastic TTO knobs.

Thanks Alex, I'm relatively new at this DE razor thing.

I was looking at alot of pictures and my D4 razor just looks different than say the D3, could you please clarify what razor I actually have. My D4 looks like the TTO knob is off a TV special/50's style razor but the handle resembles the 60's style as per the picture above.

So you think the bottom knob was changed

Don't know if they changed the knob, I bought this lot together for $29.00 and cleaned them up.Don't think the seller thought it was worth much nor cared. The date code is D4 on the base plate.
