+1 stay away from no name blurry photos on the internet. go with the BST here. or whip dog. something reputable...

I believe B&B policy is not to comment on eBay bidding items, this being an analogous environment. And it is probably better to post your straight-razor queries in the straight-razor section. Bonne continuation.

you got some good advise in your other thread on which straight to buy, not sure why you are looking on kijiji: your thread HERE

and like Alum said, probably best to post in the STRAIGHT section if you want specific advise on straights...i'm not saying post it again, but in the future.

i'd stay away from used ebay and kijiji or etsy razors...buy from the BST or WhippedDog, to be honest it looks like junk, pics are blurry and there is no price, make etc and you would have to hone it, which i'm guessing you are not familiar with given your questions on straights. i know i'm not set up to hone, so no way i'd take a chance on it.

I'm not trying to start anything, but you say you want to see what you're buying... I don't know how you can say that you can really "see" what's in that picture with it being as blurry as it is.

+1 on BST and whippeddog. I have one of each, and you can rest easy knowing that they are shave ready. If seeing picturess of the razor is important then most of those who post in the BST seem to take nice crisp pictures.

Being a newbie, you will be best served by finding a straight from one of our B/S/T sellers or if your budget will stretch that far, a new one from one of our Vendors.

Good luck in your hunt.

I have found a lot of great razors on ebay for $10 or $15. But for every great buy there are a dozen dogs. And practically all ebay razors are sold NOT shave ready. Buy a $10 razor as a newbie and you will probably pay twice that or more, when you include postage, to have it honed. Doing it yourself is not a good idea before you even know what a sharp razor is like. You won't know which to blame... your shaving inexperience, or your honing inexperience. That can be frustrating. Start with a shave-ready razor and work on your shaving first, then buy a second razor to shave with while you learn to shave with the first one, after it becomes too dull to shave well. Once you develop an eye for razors and know how to restore and hone them, ebay can be a very productive source for increasing your collection. In the meanwhile I would point you to www.whippeddog.com, or BST.

No ...you are not starting anything...

I was just thinking that the keen eyes of the professional around here could give me a price range. ( ...as I don't have the experience to differentiate a good razor from a bad one...)

I can see that it's written Barber's Favorite on the blade...so maybe that could 've helped as a clue...

No harm done..:biggrin1:

Have a nice day.

Hi...

I was looking on Kijiji out of curiosity..( I bought and sold a lot of things on that site )

My main purpose for that, is that I don't have to pay delivery, as most seller lives around my place ( It's region based...).

I'm in Canada...and if i can buy and have it faster, i will...

But sometimes, you have to wait...wich is what i'll do,...considering the good advices of the Gentlemen on this Forum.

Too you ..( and the others ) many thanks !
