Need advice!

My first boar brush just arrived this morning. ~~~ Omega 11575 Boar Shaving Brush( the one with an orange line) ~~~ I bought it to use it with a soap. I knew it was going to smell bad in the beginning (a lot of posters here have mentioned this), but I didn't expect to stink so bad and heavy. How long will it take for this smell to go? Can I do something to make it go faster? Please, advise! Can't find the right thread.
Also how to make the tops to split faster?
TIA

Give it time as you shave with it, give it the shampoo/vinegar rinse method, and some potent soaps and creams. I haven't had any smell real bad, but I have had it. It gets better though with more use, just as the brush gets better!

I had a boar stinker that took almost a month of use before the stink went away. That was unusual, though. Just use it, don't count the days, and one day you'll realize it doesn't smell anymore.

One of mine stunk real bad too I thought. I shampooed it and soaked it in the vinegear mix thing, but looking back on it, like people say, just use it, and it goes away. Probably if I get another real stinker, I'll just use it and let it clear itself up! So how's the brush doing now?
