neck whorls

So my beard has matured a little and just sliding the razor over my neck does not do the job properly anymore. I have a very pronounced, but small, whorl on my neck that I need to learn how to attack properly. Shaving like normal leads to ingrowns and irritation. I even got so frustrated as to grow some face fuzz for a while (conveniently coinciding with No Shave November). But now that I am back to shaving about daily, I would like get some advice on how to correctly shave this small circular grained area.
