Neck beard question

I am growing out my beard and have a significant "neck beard" seems that my beard acreage is pretty significant...

My question is how do you tell where the best place to make the bottom of the beard line? Is that called a neck line? Do I just guess and draw a line in the sand...er...beard? Or is there a way to tell?

Many years ago I sported sort of a chinstrap beard that followed the jawline but I don't think I want to go that route this time.

It is going to be a problem in short order as beardzilla extends well below my collar line....

Sorry for the stupid questions and thanks so much for any advice.

Here is my rule: Just above the Adam's apple.

I highly recommend letting the beard grow feral for 4 weeks and let a competent barber establish the lines with your guidance.

I always trim it right under the jaw bone. Where it goes from cheek to neck.

Thanks this is helpful. I think I will go ahead and shave at least up to the Adam's apple so that it is not below my collar. Besides I am having shaving withdrawals after only 3 days [emoji23]

Definitely keep it below the jaw line. Too low is better than too high, and much easier to fix. Too high and it starts to look like your beard is too small for your face. Here is a link to a thread from last year. http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/475793-Taming-the-beast

That was REALLY helpful! As it turns out I guessed the neckline just right thankfully, but wish I would have seen this before I attempted!

At least I didn't make the mistake I made when I was younger- I had the neckline too high.

I'm of no help. I can't tell where my beard ends and my neck beings anymore. Or where my beard begins and my neck ends.
