National Aquarium - Baltimore, MD

The Baltimore Inner Harbor is one of the best looking urban places I've seen...just don't walk more than 5 blocks in any direction from it.

From last weekend, visiting the National Aquarium (angular building in these shots):

^That's a Moray! (Green Moray...had a major attitude issue)

^Sawfish.

^Sharks swim very fast, tough to catch on the camera...glad I was not in with them, as I said, they're very fast!

The "fish" shots were tough to get. Absolutely NO lighting and glass makes for tough shooting. Also, they have signs stating not to use a flash. Of course, I "ignored" that a couple of times. The green moray was one of those instances and you can tell from his expression that yes, sea creatures DO hate flashes.

I had the chance to visit this aquarium when I spent a weekend in Baltimore a couple of years ago. The best I've been to!

Nice pictures!

well, I hope you did pass the 5 block radius you mention. There is a lot more to Baltimore then that. The Aquarium is nice and I do go every so often .I do try to avoid the dollar day at the Aquarium as it is filled with 1000000 of yelling school children.Great pictures

That was just a joke. :D

I've ventured over to Fell's Point and other areas as well. There are some great places outside the harbor for sure, but there are also some very dangerous/shady areas you need to be careful in or even avoid. My father lived in Baltimore around college age.

Once I made the mistake of parking in a garage in the "porn district" when visiting the harbor. My wife still reminds me about that.

My wife and I went there and she got picked to hand signal the dolphins in froont of the crowd and even had her on the jumbotron ..what a great place we had a blast.
