Nancy boy moisturizer

In an effort to fill a $75 order to receive free shipping, I included the NB moisturizer with my order. The signature cream is excellent as are the bath bars, but my wife and I have both found the moisturizer to be severely lacking in.....moisturizing! Has anyone else had this experience?

Joe:

I think the Nancy Boy Ultramarine Night Cream is outstanding. It cleared up a problem with chronic redness on my forehead that no other product ever helped.

However, I think the Replenishing Facial Moisturizer is useless. Not only does it not provide enough moisture for my face, it causes break-outs and blotches for me. Something in it does not agree with my skin.

I haven't tried the Night Cream. The Replenishing Facial Moisturizer doesn't break me out, it just doesn't moisturize my face. I am going to give the Kiehl's Facial Fuel a try after the NB cream is gone.

The ingredients on the Kiehl's look pretty good:

Aqua / Water / Eau, Glycerin, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Coco-Betaine, Acrylates/Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, Tea-Lauryl Sulfate, Triethanolamine, Coco-Glucoside, Phenoxyethanol, Decyl Glucoside, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Parfum / Fragrance, Chlorphenesin, Benzophenone-3, Disodium Edta, Sodium Chloride, Zea Mays / Corn Germ Oil, Caffeine, Menthol, Limonene, Polyquaternium-39, Tocopherol, Benzoic Acid, Citric Acid, Castanea Sativa / Chestnut Seed Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Juice / Orange Juice, Citrus Medica Limonum Juice / Lemon Juice, Ci 42090 / Blue 1, Ci 14700 / Red 4.

I actually just switched to this stuff, which is a better value and works great for me: http://www.clinique.com/product/1687/5047/index.tmpl

It's not specifically a product for men, but I don't care about that. Here's the ingredients list:

Purified Water, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Butylene Glycol, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Glycerin, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Caffeine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sucrose, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), Polysilicone-11, Pentylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Oleth-10, Laureth-23, Laureth-4, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Yellow 5, Red 4, Yellow 6

I prefer moisturizers with more Dimethicone, because it leaves my skin feeling really smooth.

If you have skin that tends to be more dry (mine is generally oily) then you might want to look at this one: http://www.clinique.com/product/157...ally-Different-Moisturizing-Lotion/index.tmpl

My wife agrees totally. The ultramarine she did enjoy but it has a cult following which usually means its good stuff;) I have their hand moistuizer which does smell amazing and goes on nice but really doesnt do a terrific job in the moisturizing department. Their AS gel was very lackluster even with proper application. Nancy Boy does produce amazing products but some might need some help. I understand they cant cater towards everyone as everyone is different. What works for me might not work for you. However they do strive to produce the best products they can which I appreciate.

JKT-

I hope I didn't come across as bashing NB. I think they make some great products, particularly the shave cream and bath bars. I was just surprised at how poorly the moisturizer worked for me. This was my first go around with their products so we ordered a number of different things to try. In fact, I'll list what we ordered-

1. Bath bars in signature scent- great soap. Rinses well, awesome scent, and seems to last and last. Would re-order.
2. Shave cream in signature scent- great cream with a great scent. Would re-order.
3. Cooling AS gel- jury is still out. I have other products which I feel do a better job post shave, particularly QCS ASB and SCS Blue Line ASB
4. Facial Cleanser- does a nice job but is a bit drying for me. Will stick with my Burt's Bees.
5. Facial Moisturizer- as above
6. Trial size of the Shea Butter body lotion- this stuff seems great. In fact, I have used it on my face and it does a very nice job. Would certainly order a full size bottle.
6. Trial size of the after sun lotion- this was for my wife and she is yet to use it.

I have used the moisturizer; it absorbs very quick and seems very light. as far as not moisturizing...jury is still out. Facial cleanser seems a bit thin/light when i am using it. I will probably be sticking with Every Man Jacks skin clearing face wash

--edit--
I will say NB's shave cream (replenishing & blossomwood) are both great. Blossomwood balm & Replenishing aftershave gel were both great.

I'm currently using NB moisturizer and will be looking for another this spring/summer. Since you you have oily skin like me, what do you recommend? I really like MenScience oil free but it stings some after a shave.

It's been about two months since i started using the moisturizer and I must say i think it works great. As for the facial wash, i'll be sticking with the EMJ.

I'm very fond of the NB Blossomwood Balm. It's lighter than the Replenishing Balm, however, so not likely to do the job for you if the latter doesn't.
