I acquired this brush from a seller from England along with a DE razor for a great price. I want to know more about this brush so I came to the experts. I have already had a few emails from others from the auction site inquiring about the brush. The price was a steal now I just want to know more about it. It seems to be unused. Thanks in advance as I know someone here knows all about it.

One would think that the white band at the bottom of the knot may indicate use?
It looks definitely used to me. I would say that the hair is pure badger but I could be wrong.

You are right. I just rinsed the white band away with warm water.

It's definitely a Semogue Boar, unknown model, I seen one like it at Portuguese Gift an online site. I did a search and cannot find a link anymore, I had a Semogue 1140, Green Arcylic Barrel shaped brush I purchased from them and remember looking at this as well, like mine it has Gray/White & Black Bristles and is ~48-20mm, ~45mm handle.

There was a thread a couple years back that had this one and some other vintage Semogues on it. There was some interest in them, and someone found a link to a random European drug store that had your brush and the barrel one in stock. I got my brother a couple of them as Christmas presents that year. Sorry I cant remember the specifics, its been two years. At any rate here is a photo of some others that were in discussion at the time.

Yes, mine was the color of the first and shaped like the third from the left with the same color Bristles, the brush was very stiff and lost very few hairs.
I can't provide any information, but would like to remark that it's one of the most attractive brush handles I've ever seen!
Actually it's not badger, it's boar. The sticker says "Cerda Pura", this means "Pure Boar" in Portuguese.
That's an old Semogue model, AFAIK, probably sold in old drugstore some time ago and used (check the white band near the ring).

The brush is defiantly a very stiff boar and it seems to resemble the Semogue 1439 shown above just in a different color scheme. I guess It will be another unused brush as there are a few I want from Vintage Scent. By the way I love the SOG Cherry handle brush, thanks Leon.
