Mystery Razors, let’s see em’!

Just finished refurbishing this razor that I picked up from a local antique store. I’ve never heard of this one before but it performs well! This got me thinking, what all mystery razors do you guys have???

This is Jane Doe. Nobody have been able to identity this lady. I believe she is of Solingen (1930’s) origins, but thats about it. Newly scaled in Mopane wood and shaves very well.

Nice! That double bird looks mint and I really like the mopane scales. What did you finished the wood with?

Clearcoat they use when painting cars. About 20 coats. Spray 1 coat, dry, buff & polish. Repeat 19 times...

Mopane wood is very hard, so hard in fact its termite resistant. Scales and blade should be good for another 100 years.

This one has cryptic symbols on it and old horn scales

It came to me in that old wooden box, so there was no external identification signs either.

Those markings are the maker’s trademark and at first glance might be pre 1900, even mid 1800. Is there country of origins stamped into the blade?

Beautiful razor and in great shape, where did you get it? I love the tang...

Unfortunately, there is nothing on the other side. So those mysterious marks are all there is.

I think a lot of scrubbing work went into getting it back into this shape, but I did that years ago and don't fully remember. I don't remember either where I got it. I think it was either in France or in the UK.

Ok here's one.
6/8 bellied hollow. There's no identifying marks. I think it was reground at some point in it's life. The scales are bovine horn I believe. I haven't cleaned it up enough yet to tell what that the wedge is. The pins scream old. But the jimps and tang aren't too old fashioned. Maybe 1900-1920s? The effective shaving bevel is about 15.5 degrees. The steepest of any of the two dozen or so I've measured so far. I haven't shaved with it yet. I imagine it will keep me on my toes.
