My Yardley Soap Bowl Pics Before and After

Here are the pictures of the old Yardely soap bowl I found a while back. Scroll down to see the before and after. I wanted to just bring out the wood grain to retain the original character. It's been sanded and stained multiple times with a Minwax Polyshade (Classic Oak). It should tolerate water really well.

This is important, because, like all of my other stuff, I'm going to use it.

Bravo! What a wonderful soap bowl to use. It's got character and tradition. Exactly what I think most of us strive for here at B&B. Well done!

Thanks for the great idea, Jeff. I've got a couple of scruffy empty Yardley bowls that I've been trying to figure out how to recycle. Now I know!

This is definitely a great idea that I will steal if I ever get some Yardley. Those bowls just look waaay to mildewy and weird otherwise.

Fantastic restoration! I wasn't by chance the inspiration for this endeavor was I? I finished that one back in December and was very pleased that I was able to save the label. Fortunately my bowl came with a NOS puck of the Yardley soap as well.

Really great work, that is a fine looking bowl you have there!

Yeah Rob,
I remember yours, thought it looked great, and had to give it a go.

now all you need is some yardley to go in it!

Is that an offer?

I'll be waiting on your PM.:001_smile
