I'm new to monkeying around with the business end of a fountain pen, even though I've been obsessed with them since 2005. The ink is Visconti Red, by the way.
Congrats on the successful modification! Doesn't it make you feel good that you were able to get it writing the way you like on your own.
Nice looking pen.
^ Thanks. It really does! I was so mad at this pen that I was beyond caring about irreversibly maiming it. Getting it to work properly is more satisfying than a new purchase. My fear of destroying a pen is what has kept me from working on them, which is strange considering how much I work on my mountain bikes. Fountain pens just seem so delicate. Anyway, that little victory took some of the wind out of my AD sails for the day.
I didn't have good light for the photos, by the way. The Visconti red ink is much nicer in person.
They're beautiful pens, Vlad. I flushed mine with soapy water, and it's writing a little wetter now, too. I don't know why it never occurs to me to flush pens. I'm sure that was part of the problem all along.
