What's new

My student shave den

I've been building on this since January, and it's starting to look good:p Of course, the shelves aren't that nice, as (read title) I'm a student:p As long as it holds my gear, the shelf is good enough for me :tongue_sm

Hey, it doesn't need to look fancy. The fact that you made the shelves yourself should feel rewarding enough.

What is in the white ceramic container next to the blade bank on the bottom shelf there?

Nice work. What are your brushes?

From left to right:

- Silvertip 24mm 60mm loft, buffalo horn handle made by Mr. Rudy Vey! A winner with creams!
- Omega Boar brush. I don't know the specs, it came with my starter kit. A very good all-round brush, works great with both soaps and creams.
- My face lathering brush, brilliant with soaps. Cost me $5. Doesn't hold much lather, but enough for three passes!

This, is something I bought yesterday, actually, to store my blade packages that I'm not using. I've decided that I like Astra blades the best (see top right corner of pic: 100 blades package). In this container I have some feathers, BIC, Gillette platinum etc etc. Backup / give away blades.

Wait...why do you have your toothbrush and toothpaste on the shelf? That is taking up valuable space for more shaving gear! :mad3:

 Like it or not, we all need to brush our teeth:tongue_sm If you notice it, the upper shelf is only for shaving essentials, the lower is for toothbrush/paste, used blades/excess blades, colognes and antiperspirant.

I'm diggin' that badger!

See up :w00t: Great brush indeed!

As for my soaps, there's a Trumper's Limes and Fitjar Fjellheim. Both great soaps, but I think I actually get more lather from the fitjar soap. Either way, I love my soaps!:001_wub:

And thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate it! I just want to stress that the upper shelf is indeed hanging horizontally, even though it looks really, erhm, what's the word, well, non-horizontal :tongue_sm:lol: (so much for my vocabulary)..

Nicely done! Also glad to see another student trying to enjoy the finer things of life on a budget.

Cheers!

Nicely done. When I was in your shoes, it was a Trac II and some canned goo in a cluttered Shaving kit for me, so you are miles and miles ahead of where I was!

Try "crooked", "slanted", or "cockeyed". Looks fine to me, crooked or not.
