My straight is not shave ready...

...what do I do? It was given to me by a friend, and the razor per say is in great condition. However, the edge seems a bit dull to me and I do not think it is shave ready. Can I ready it myself or would it be a better idea to send it to a professional? If so, any suggestion?

thank you

I can vouch for Larry Andreassen (AKA Larry Andro, a member on here and runs the Whipped Dog website) for honing - great price, fast processing and a great edge put on the blade. Along with that he's a heck of a nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate sending a blade to him...

+1 on getting your first razor done by someone else...will give you a benchmark of just how sharp a razor should be! :thumbup1:
