Hey all,
Some of you might remember my earlier thread about me ordering my single ring, and looking for advice on how to polish it up, or advice on re-plating if the plating was gone.
WARNING, PICTURE HEAVY
I did the baking soda and tinfoil trick as recommended by so many B&B'ers and it worked phenomenally! As soon as I poured the water on the razor black flakes of tarnish started floating to the top. Then I grabbed by trusty nylon toothbrush and gave it a scrub with some toothpaste and the rest of the black tarnish came right away leaving it with a beaufitul shine. This is the blackest razor I've cleaned, and the first one I didn't need to use any polish on!
Also, I looked up the stamp number and it came back as a 1906, I believe that was the first year the single ring was produced. My lucky number is 6
Thanks for the advice gents.
