My Shavemac Brush Broke!

I've had this brush since 2022, use it about twice a week. The other day I was shaking it out (gently) after a shave and half the knot fell out. I've emailed Shavemac, no response so far. Other brushes I've owned have lasted decades, but this was my first premium brush. Anyone know if it's worth trying to glue everything back together, or is it a total loss? Is there a chance Shavemac might offer a warranty?

Today is a public holiday in parts of Germany so give it a bit for a response. To me it looks like a glue failure but perhaps @Rudy Vey can chime in. He has handled hundreds of Shavemac knots.

The knot is done for good . Great handle and should get a nice new knot . It is very easy to do yourself . You buy a knot that is the same size . You sand the inner handle smooth , apply the PROPER cement , insert the new knot and let dry for 48 hours . Not sure how long the warranty is but wait for a response from Shavemac .

Rudy (see his post above) got in touch with Shavemac on my behalf. He's going to replace the knot for me from his stock and Shavemac will send him a replacement. At no cost to me other than shipping! Many thanks to Rudy, Shavemac and of course this terrific forum!

That was my only brush, I had a couple of Simpsons Best Badgers which I got rid of because I never used them after getting the Shavemac. I just placed an order for a backup to tide me over until it comes back.

Nidan , are you soaking your brush in hot water or very hot water ? Lower half or submerging the entire knot ?

My usual routine is to let the brush sit in a small bowl of warm or barely hot water for the 5-10 minutes it takes me to shower and get ready to shave. About 2/3 of the knot is submerged. After use I rinse it thoroughly under warm to cool water, give it a squeeze and a shake. I don’t use a stand to dry the brush, I set it on a shelf, tip up. Maybe should be drying it tip down in a stand…

All fine. (I do the same with my badgers but not for soaking but to soften remains from old soap or limescale.)

I don't baby my brushes, but I pinch the hairs where they exit the handle, so that I shake the hairs, not the knot.

(After that I slightly rub them on a towel.)

It makes no difference.
