I just picked there two straights up and don't know too much about them. I'm hoping someone can shed light on how they shave?

A closer picture might help so that people can see the tang stamp, but I can tell you off the bat that the top one is gonna take some work to be a good shave. That looks like a pretty rough frown. Other than that, I don't see why they shouldn't hone up and shave well.

It does have a bit of a frown. I guess it'll take a bit more work than I initially was thinking.

One of my firsts was a Clauss that I received from Larry at whippeddog.com in a sight unseen order, and It was a great shaver. It should hone and shave pretty well. The frown will take some work to get out if you can hone it out and have any blade left. Its a shame, that is some nice etching.

It looks like it should hone out as long as I'm careful along the center of the blade. I may have it done professionally. I'll post it once progress is made.
