My Newly Organized Shave Den - What's Your Favorite Den Organization Tool?

RAD and, to a lesser extent, PAD ("Pinaud Acquisition Disorder"), quickly robbed me of space in my medicine cabinet, and I like to have a pretty clear countertop. I also have two small kids, so I'm somewhat limited in what I can keep in the undersink cabinet. So, I've been keeping most of my stuff on a shelf over the washing machine, which is not too far from my bathroom, but I still prefer to have it all in the bathroom.

While picking up a few things at Bed, Bath & Beyond the other day, I happened to see a row of cases in the cosmetics aisle. I opened one of them up, and realized this was the perfect box for my razors, brushes, soaps and blades! I felt very odd perusing the makeup aisle, and odder still purchasing a makeup case :shifty:, however I'm very pleased with the results:

Here's the case:

Here's what it looks like when you first open it:

And here's what it looks like when you expand the top trays:

(I cut out some rectangles of the stuff you put under rugs to keep them from sliding around, and lined the trays with them to keep the razors in place).

Now I keep razors, soap and brushes in this box under my sink, with my AS bottles in the medicine cabinet...

...leaving my countertop nice and clear, except for my toothbrushes (one for SWMBO, one for me, two for scrubbing razors), my 91% isopropyl (for dipping razors in to combat hard water), a bar of MWF, and this week's hardware rotation (Fatip and Bock Silvertip).

In case you're interested, the box was $35 at BB&B, and it's made by a company called "Caboodles":rolleyes5.

Excellent idea! & don't worry, I was looking in the make-up aisle myself the other day at the little drawers (maybe they were for jewellery? anyhow, it was definitely a women's aisle) I thought they would be perfect for my ever growing collection of DE blades.

That looks pretty sharp - nice solution to the inherent clutter of the dedicated connoisseur shaver.

Unused items go in a Rubbermaid Roughneck, kept high on a basement shelf. My wife is 4'11 and cant reach it so will never know my total payload of gear. The stuff I actively use are in the cupboard under the bathroom sink, some on my dresser and some in the top shelf of my closet. Sometimes I rotate the location of unused items to keep her constantly guessing.

+1

I have one just like it where the things I rarely use go to gather dust lol

This is my modest shaving tray that I keep in my bathroom closet. It has close to all the shaving gear I own.

barko78, I see you like to keep your alum stick in the tube. I like to keep mine in the open air so they mutate and dissolve into a shave art masterpiece.

The tool most responsible for organizing my den is my wallet. Unfortunately the tool is broken. Anyone have a working one they'd let me borrow? On second thought, I'd probably break it too.

I'm new to DE shaving (about 2 months) and I quickly started running out of room on my sink/counter so I made this shelf to de-clutter. Working great so far.

I have commandeered a shelf in one of our bathroom cabinets . Out of reach of the kids, out of the way for the wife! I'm working on filling it up. next stop: a slightly less embarrassing brush!

I picked up an Ikea desk organizer for $5.99 and used 3M strips to hang it on the wall just above the backsplash on the bathroom counter, so far I'm loving it! I'm going to take some Sugru and go over where the razors sit so it's rubbery and not metal on metal (3x3 grid of holes plus 1 long hole). It's nice because it also has a cork insert on the bottom that makes me feel better about setting stuff that might be a little wet on it.

That is a fantastic case. Just made for storing razors.

I am lucky in that I don't have to share a bathroom (we have 5 baths in this house so I get my own)

Aftershaves I keep on a wall shelf

I keep brushes and scuttles stored in this floor standing shelf

I have a couple of different boxes that have razors in them

And I can clutter up the counter as much as I want since it is all mine

Hello all!

I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread.

I've only started wet shaving in the last couple of months or so, and my shaving gear has already been banished to a small guest bathroom. That being the case, I've run out of room and have been searching for some organizational ideas. I love a couple I've seen on here so far!

Thanks for the great ideas!

- Paul

P.S. - Here's what I'm currently trying to herd into some sort of "system"....
