RAD and, to a lesser extent, PAD ("Pinaud Acquisition Disorder"), quickly robbed me of space in my medicine cabinet, and I like to have a pretty clear countertop. I also have two small kids, so I'm somewhat limited in what I can keep in the undersink cabinet. So, I've been keeping most of my stuff on a shelf over the washing machine, which is not too far from my bathroom, but I still prefer to have it all in the bathroom.
While picking up a few things at Bed, Bath & Beyond the other day, I happened to see a row of cases in the cosmetics aisle. I opened one of them up, and realized this was the perfect box for my razors, brushes, soaps and blades! I felt very odd perusing the makeup aisle, and odder still purchasing a makeup case , however I'm very pleased with the results:
Here's the case:
Here's what it looks like when you first open it:
And here's what it looks like when you expand the top trays:
(I cut out some rectangles of the stuff you put under rugs to keep them from sliding around, and lined the trays with them to keep the razors in place).
Now I keep razors, soap and brushes in this box under my sink, with my AS bottles in the medicine cabinet...
...leaving my countertop nice and clear, except for my toothbrushes (one for SWMBO, one for me, two for scrubbing razors), my 91% isopropyl (for dipping razors in to combat hard water), a bar of MWF, and this week's hardware rotation (Fatip and Bock Silvertip).
In case you're interested, the box was $35 at BB&B, and it's made by a company called "Caboodles".
