My new years eve shave...

Was a DUD!

I've been using my collection of Crystal blades mostly to get rid of them...They do a so-so job for me usually...Serves me right for jumping in so quickly and buying 1000 of em...

Well, my midnight shave before bed, was a dud blade on one side...When I flipped it over to get a fresh edge for against the grain, it drew blood...

First dud I've had so far too.

Oh, and I know I've been missing for a few months, but I'm back...Sorta.

what handle you using?..some Merkur's CAN be different ever soslightly from one side to another?..did you try palm stroping yer blades?..I get 4-7 shaves from one of my SE gem stainless steel blades!

Sometimes there are duds, it's just the (bad) luck of the draw...it's impossible to have 100% flawless QC. Total bummer that it was a landmark shave though, lol...

Maybe consider cutting your losses if the Crystals are not working out so well for you and posting the whole lot on the B/S/T. Good chance the Crystals might get snapped up by someone who may have better mileage with them and you can move on to your "go to" blade.

I'm considering putting them up...
Part of the problem may have been the dud blade, but even with the "meh" shaves I get with them, they're FAR better than disposables!

And yes, I hope this isn't the shape of things to come...
I'll have to stock up on some of my favorite blades.

If you don't mind me saying if they are yielding "meh" shaves why not try other blades to find one that gives you consistently good shaves?
