My New Palmetto Plinker

Finally, after months of acquiring the components, I have a second complete AR 15 rifle. The major parts are from Palmetto State Armory, including the upper receiver, barrel, bolt carrier group, lower receiver, and the lower parts kit; the free-floated hand guard is made by Midwest Industries, the butt stock and pistol grip are made by Blackhawk, the angled fore grip is a Magpul. The fixed sights are Troy Industries. I got a "better" trigger and disconnector spring set from Brownells, and the pull is now about 4.5 lbs.

Unfortunately, I am forced to use a low cap mag as required by local laws.

Can't wait to get it to the range!!!

Yes, those low capacity magazines have saved a lot of lives... Silly law.

Suhweet! How do you like that FF handguard?

I like the looks of the handguards, the theoretical accuracy I should get from them, and the barrel should get lots of airflow for cooling. The down side is the smooth metal is not great to grip. A foregrip in this case is almost mandatory; but that's fine, I wanted a foregrip anyways. The handguard on my Remmy VTR15 is better in the sense that it has serrations in its metal hand guard to grip hold on to.

Overall I am extremely happy with the Palmetto setup. It's light and balances well. I like the full length picatinny rail.

I am see-sawing between a quadrail or one like yours. I prefer a thinner hand guard myself, but having the quadrail to hang tacticool stuff off of is appealing as well.

Very nice. I drool every time I see some of the weapons ya'll have put together. They are truly amazing.
I only have 1. I use it for deer, hogs, and varmints.
It is a Rock River Arms with a Night Force Scope.
nothing like what you guys have but it gets the job done.
