What's new

My new/old arsenal

Well I'm a new guy with the DE shaving stuff. I jumped in with the Merkur Slant and found it a little rough since I have no technique as of yet.

So, while my face healed, I got a Lady Gillette, a Gillette Tech and a Gillette Slim adjustable. I've already tried the lady and it was a lot easier on me. Tomorrow the Tech.....and then the Slim.

Hopefully I will find one that works for me. Not counting the new Merkur, I invested less than $30, so that's very good for my pocket book.

Both the Tech and the Slim should be good to start out with. Just set the Slim on 1 in the beginning, and move up as you feel more confident. Hang in there, you'll find something that works for you.

hi
the slant is not the best to start with ,however once you are used to it ,takes a lot of beating ,use mine at least twice a week , this one ,that one ,or this one ,so i pick the slant up .technique needs to be good else cuts and horror movie looks .i have a tech , used one for 20 years and nothing else , i also have a lady gillette ,also a very good razor ,both quite forgiven.the slim adj is a good all round tool . :001_smile. once used to the adj and moving on to the higher settings ,try the slant again .

You shave your beard like a lady. :001_tt2:

I tried the Tech this morning. I could hardly tell there was even a blade in it. I kept checking to find out if the hair was actually being removed. Using a feather blade, it was very nice. Tomorrow, I will try the Slim.
