What's new

My new GFT Super Badger

I scored a lightly used Geo F. Trumper badger brush in super on the Bay about a week ago for a really great price. I received it yesterday. I severely underestimated the sheer size of this brush! The knot is as big as the bowl I use to lather . Here are some comparison shots of it and my other 2 brushes as well as my bowl. Hope you enjoy!

That looks like it might be a re-branded Vulfix 2235. That's a great brush, especially for creams. Good score.

You will need a bigger bowl though.

Edit: I just took a second look at the size of the brush next to your Omega. That's probably a Vulfix 2236. That's huge.

Saw that on ebay was wondering if it would show up here.:wink2:
I have a Trumpers brush in there best rating. Have had it for oh heck at least 12 years or so I believe. One day i am going to find out who made it. :001_smile

Good luck with your new brush.

I'm pretty sure it is the 2235, because its dimensions match the "medium" brush on Trumpers site. Even so, this brush is pretty massive. I can't imagine using a bigger brush than this! I haven't even tried this brush out yet so we'll see how she does.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, I believe you are right sir. This brush measures in at ~135mm tall, with a ~63mm loft.

Most Vulfix brushes are stamped with their own individual logo "Vulfix Old Original".
But this brush maker also produces brushes for other companies and brands them for those companies.
In this case the pics show a Vulfix 2235 in Super Badger hair, branded with Trumpers logo.
In other words Trumpers purchases its brushes directly from the producer, that is Vulfix, and Vulfix takes care of branding them.

Regarding the 2235 S I can confirm that it is a superb, medium size brush.
I own one myself and always enjoy using it.

P.S. Very nice photos!

Very nice brush, indeed! How dense is the knot on that puppy?

Can't compare it to other badger brushes, as this is my first, but I feel like it just slightly less dense than that Omega. I'm not sure I dig the badger though. Let's just say that now I know what "badger burn" is. I'm going to try it out for a few more days, but if I don't like it I think I'll sell it and use the proceeds for more shaving goods.
