I just received a Fatip Piccolo in the mail yesterday and had my first shave with it this morning.
When I first opened the box it came it, I was surprised how tiny the whole razor was in my hand (I know, I know...'piccolo'..'tiny' I get it! ). The razor was much heavier than it's diminutive appearance belies with its solid little handle plus heavy head.
Per other's recommendations, I swapped out the small original handle for a larger one. Most of my razors tend to be large-handled so it is a size I am most comfortable with shaving. The Piccolo handle simply felt too small in my hands.
I used the 'Grande' handle from my R41not an ideal fit, but it was secure enough to ensure a 'safe' shave.
Piccolo to Grande:
I loaded a Personna Med blade and prepped for the shave. Plenty of blade exposure, rivaling the 2011 R41...
End result: An excellent, comfortable, close shave. The Fatip produced significant audio feedback (not unlike the R41), as well as an extremely close shave even after a single pass. I found the Fatip to be a bit more forgiving than the Mühle as well, yet still produced a quality shave that rivaled the Beast in closeness. This razor will certainly remain in the razor rotation as I came away quite impressed with this nice 'little' OC razor. The Mühle handle will return to the R41, and an Ikon Bulldog II will soon be paired with the Fatip. Happy shaving ahead!
