What's new

My new brush.

I've been CRAZY busy at work the last 3-4 weeks. Finally got some time today to get some work done in the shop and I don't think it turned out too bad. 22 mm TGN silvertip knot set at 52 mm. I can't wait to try it out. I'll try to get some post-bloom photos uploaded tomorrow if anyone is interested. :straight:

Where did you source the handle? Doesn't one of the popular brush makers sell one?

EDIT: T&H makes a rainbow resin handle, but I know I've seen a diamond wood handle....

Thanks for the feed back. I found the wood at a wood shop in Birmingham. It's simply laminated plywood. I cut the block down to size prior to turning it. Got it to shape, sanded it, sealed the wood with 7 coats, re-sanded it, then another 10 coats, let it dry, then polished it 2000-15,000. It's "way, funky, groovy cool!" I'm going to try to make another today using what I have left over. I want to get another "big block" of it if I can so I can cut it "off center" and really make the colors "POP!"

Here's another brush that I made today. We're calling this line the "Janice Joplin" Collection. I really like the modern look this one has. I think the shape really compliments the color of the wood.

And here's a few of the first "Janice Joplin" brush, pre & post bloom?

Ooh yes - cut at various angles, you could get some great results!
