My latest discovery

This thread is dedicated to your latest shave cream acquisition. Regardless, if it has already been reviewed or talked about, please give the name of the product and your impressions. Here is mine.

My latest purchase is Taylors Shaving Shop shave cream. I have been curious about trying this shave cream for several months. Well I finally got around to buying this shave cream about two weeks ago.

My initial impression was that it sure looks similar to Taylors Avocado. The cream is dense unlike Avocado. The scent is clean and more pronounced than Avocado.

My initial lathering prep with this shave cream produced a very thick lather. The shave cream went on dense on my face. The cream was very lubricating thus, letting my razor to glide over my face with no snags. The lather rinsed off with no residue.

I give this cream an "A". It has become part of my shave cream rotation.

What's your discovery?

I recently discovered Taylors Almond and the scent is outstanding....The shave was great and very lubricating. It was actually a sample and have a couple others I would like to use some more to add to my want list. Taylors Almond is a excellent cream, tons of lather

I concur on the Almond. Fantastic stuff. I had reviewed it here .

My latest love affair is with the QED Anise & Lavender soap. Man o man does this stuff smell good. Of course I melted it down into a bowl. Thick, rich, luscious lather coupled with a laser-close shave. Dynamite product.

The last shipment was Taylors Avocado, Eton College, QED Lime tub soap and B & B shave stick. The B & B cologne is great...can't wait until this is released.

The avocado reminded me of the shave shop scent..nice and clean. Great shave, seemed slightly slicker than other Taylors...definitely like it.

Only used the Eton College a couple of times but like the scent...shave was good (as are all the Taylor Creams for me). The only creams I don't have are Mr. Taylors (Have a sample and like this one...will be in the next order), St. James and Almond (From what I read this one will also be in the next order.) I guess all 3 will be in the next order, who am I kidding.

As for the QED soaps, the scents are amazing and the shaves are as well. The shave stick format is a little different to get used to, but for traveling I can see it would be a great idea. Could end up melting it down but definitely want to keep one stick around for traveling purposes. The question is which ones to buy next. I think the Lavender and Sandlewood Tubs are on the wish list but with so many sticks to choose????? Any recommendations?

The sandalwood tub is superb. That would be my choice.

Anyone else? Like I said it doesn't matter if one of our members has already reviewed it. Give us your impression.

I use Trumper's Shaving Cream in the tub and the violet scent. A little goes a very long way. My brush creates a very rich, lubricating lather that provides quite a comfortable shave.

D R Harris shave soap. Up until recently, I've been more of a cream guy. I've always been able to get loads of rich, slick lather with all of my English creams. The D R Harris rivaled my creams and I can't wait to get back to it in my rotation. Gonna see if I can duplicate my results with Trumpers soap tomorrow.

Excellent choice. Violet has to be their best shave cream. You should try Coconut. Excellent shave and wonderful scent.

Crabtree & Evelyn Almond. Wow. Very intense almond scent, and lubricates with the best. Whips up nicely, stays hydrated both on my face and in the bowl. Taylor's Avocado gets high praise for being "non-drying". For me, this is every bit as good!

Ah! Crabtree and Evelyn Sienna! Great stuff. At first I thought it had dried out, but it is just exceptionally dense. Great fragrance, great shave..

Florena shave cream in a tube along with a Wilkinson's pure badger brush.

I squeezed some directly onto the wet brush & lathered it on my face from there. Worked up a lather quickly, and rinsed clean afer I was done. The scent was somewhat floral -- or more like the smell of aloe which it has in it.

Just bought Trumpers shaving cream in tub. I have the rose and the violet. With a my silver tip badger brush, a little goes a very long way and builds a very rich lather. My Merkur HD glides over my face. No nicks or cuts.

Which Trumpers shave cream did you buy?

well, guys, a bunch of good choices. I would say Crabtree & Evelyn almond and Sienna and Taylors almond and DR Harris almond and Arlington are my favorites. Every one of these creams smell great, lather fantastic and give super shaves. Oh, let's not forget Proraso in the green tube!

Chris, with respect my friend, Florena is made with chamomile, not aloe. It even says so on the tube. I also have some

It is good stuff, huh?
