My Last Flight

Hello Fine Folks of Badger and Blade. I just wanted to let my shaving, shooting, golfing, pipe/cigar smoking, fountain pen writing, watch wearing and other activity friends that last night I did my last flight in an Army Helicopter. After 35 yrs in the army and 31 yrs in the Huey, Kiowa, Cobra, Blackhawk, and finally the Lakota, I have decided to hang up my spurs and join the ranks of the retired.

My official retirement date is not until 31Mar 13, but with leave (vacation) and other perks, today was my first day of not working. I did have a leisurely shave this morning with the following gear:

Gold black handle adjustable
Whipped Dog Brush
Truefit and Hill 1805
Feather Blade
Clubman Pinaud

The Count of Merkur Cristo

B&B's Emperor of Emojis

and enjoy your retirement!
Q. What will you do with yourself? Go to work in industry, federal service (blue suit), or just 'chill-out'?

Congrats on your fini flight. 35 yrs is a long time to give to the service of your country, and is impressive in its own right. Enjoy the couple months of leave and transitory time you have before your actual retirement date, and then be sure to enjoy your retirement as well.

Congrats on your retirement! If my job were flying a helicopter, I'd have spent 30 years doing that too, instead of sitting in a g#d d$*mn cubicle!!!
An acquaintance of mine is a retired Army helicopter pilot - he is now flying tourists over volcanoes on Hawaii and he is the happiest man I ever met.
If I had a chance to do it all again...

Enjoy your time on the ground but if you are like many it won't be long before you are back in the air once again.

Congrats !! I'm sure you'll enjoy the new lifestyle - a high school classmate of mine also retired from the military with chopper experience & then he got a job taking oil rig workers back and forth between the mainland & the rigs in the Gulf - maybe you could do that on a part time basis since it sounds like you're still a young guy ? mid 50's ??

I spent a lot of time working with pilots as part of the ground lift team. Congrats on the retirement and enjoy your leave. Definitely plenty of job opportunities if you get bored and want to work some more.

Congratulations on your retirement. I hope you can take some time and do something like fly a bass boat around a nice quiet lake somewhere for a while. Enjoy!

Congrats man! Thank you for your service. You paid your dues, and I wish you all the best in all your future endeavors.

Best Regards Ron
