My Krona

Stop by an antique store yesterday which has been a great source for Gillettes in the past.

Looking through a cigar box made up of mostly SE razors I see a long black handle razor. It's a Schick Krona in excellent condition. Picked it up for $11.

Cleaned it up last night and shaved with it today using a Wilkinson blade.

The comments and reviews about this razor were right!

This razor is sturdy, light and easy to use. Got a DFS with a two-pass shave.

This razor is defiantly in my rotation.:thumbup1:

When are we going to arrange a tour of the Boston area antique stores to inspect & collect some DE & SE razors?

Jake, I know of "only one place" locally that generally has a supply of razors.

Seeing some of the razors you had on the "Sale Forum" I would think you should hold a seminar on local resources for the rest of us.

I tried arranging a tour of an antique store with SE razors last week and it fell thru.

Getting together with other B&B members sounds great but arranging everyone schedule to meet at a time and place is not easy.

I think herding cats would be easier.

Bought a Krona from Gillette4259 and while I was waiting for it I did some searching and found this thread. Used it this morning for the first time with a Feather blade and wow, you guys are right! This thing performed flawlessly. The longer handle probably has a lot to do with it.
Some advice from a rookie to other new guys. If you get the chance to get one of these don't pass it up.

I was a little apprehensive about a razor with plastic. However, the black plastic on the handle is apparently very tough and the color has not faded at all.

Very happy with this purchase.

That's understandable, but you're right. They are very sturdy, very well made razors. I bought mine a few months months ago and it quickly became one of my favorite DE razors. I love my Krona. :001_wub:
