My introduction to Tcheon Fung Sing

Got a puck of softish soap from CyberJCM this weekend. (Thanks!)
TFS Summer, aroma intenso.

Now while the aroma is very light and not intenso at all, this thing lathers like a champ. Thick and creamy lather, easy to achieve, and slick as all get out. I may be having a problem with smelling soap scents lately - this, La Toja, Lea all smell a bit like soap to me. Maybe a hint of sweet almond on this one.
Post shave feel is pretty darn good for a non-tallow soap too.

Not sure why this series of soaps doesn't get more love here. Instantly became my favorite veggie soap. I think it lathers even better than my dearly departed RazoRock classic.

Anyone else?

I believe it's the Artisan Line of RazoRock that is made by TFS. So not the Classic....
{CORRECTION - as JC points out below -- it's the LaFamiglia line that's made by TFS, not the Artisan line}

I have used their more longstanding soft soaps and the newer harder puck in Zagara e Gelsomino.
I love the stuff. Slick, easy lather, decent cushion, pleasant scents, easy rinsing.... nothing but good.

I finished a puck of their Bergamotto & Neroli back in May. It's a great soap that makes an excellant lather but I won't replace it until I finish off some more of the 25+ soaps and creams I currently have.

I will buy it again eventually.

The Lather Maestro
It's the La Familia line that is TFS. The Don Marco is the RazoRock version of Bergamot Neroli.

Smells like

Great summer soap!

Thanks John -- LaFamigilia is TFS.
The artisan line has one Veggie soap (and 7, I think, tallow soaps). The veggie is the one I happen to have. I don't know who made it for sure, but I think that might be TFS (?). It has many of the earmarks of TFS, anyway, and is a very good soap indeed -- that is, the Muguet de France.

I received from Royalshave today a luxury jar of the TFS Cannella Arancio Amaro aroma intenso (soft soap). It occurred to me upon opening the jar and smelling the soap that this is probably the same some that I was given a complimentary sample of from Barbiere di Figaro last year when I placed a rather large order. It was in an unlabeled container, but from the scent I thought it was the Bergamotto Neroli aroma intenso (soft soap). Goes to show how hard it is for some people to dicipher scents (I have a deviated septum..... what's your excuse?? :001_tongu ). Anyway, I'm very happy to finally have a full size jar of this stuff. The scent of this one is more sweet and spicey..... very fitting for the autumn season. The jar is frosted plastic with a screw top lid and an inner removeable hard plastic seal..... quite simple and nice. A simple label with no superfluous graphics or information.... very old school and traditional. The "soft" soap is rather hard actually..... much like MdC. I was very happy with the performance of the sample that Eric from BDF sent me, and have always been meaning to order a full jar.... but am just now getting around to it. A week ago I received a couple refill pucks of the TFS hard soap..... Bergamotto Neroli and Tobacco Verde..... and well as a couple tubs of the Barbiere di Figaro soaps.... Mistereo and Classico.... which from what I understand are basically the same as the TFS soft soaps except with different scents. I haven't had a chance to try any of them yet since I am in the middle of 3017ing a stick of Valobra. I know that the performance of these soaps will be good from the samples I've tried and the testimonials I've read from other members..... so I'm really looking forward to the day I will be able to try these out.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the nice words!

I think that we had a sort of tester for the Amaroli back then which was indeed between the Bergamotto Neroli and the Cannella Arancio Amaro. The BdF soaps are all made by TFS. And besides the difference in scents, we also asked for our line to be made with hazelnut oil that was only used for the TFS Cuore di Lavanda. It should suit the sensitve skin better.

I hope you will like the scents when you get to try them!

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Pierce,

I'm happy to participate!

If you like the Bergamotto Neroli, then there is the luxury jar with the softer soap like Ben mentioned, but we're out of those right now. (just had new inventory from TFS but all was sold before we got it)

In that kind of scent we then just have the Neroli Mediterraneo in glass jar, but the jar is rather small, not suited to load from directly.

But The Bergamotto Neroli will be available elswewhere, how much we'd love to welcome you as a customer.

We ship from the Netherlands, please keep that in mind!

Thanks,

Eric

Pierce -- I've since been corrected on my speculation on the "Muguet de France". Not TFS.
I've used sample (from Garry's, and milled) of the Tobacco Verde soft soap. Great performance, I'm not big on the scent. (I don't like Tabac's scent, and I don't like Alt-Innsbrucks AS's scent, all of which have some commonality, to my nose). But it was very good soap indeed.

The Zagara e Gerolsimo is the TFS hard soap I have. Excellent soap. Really excellent, and especially for the price. If I were to experiment more, now, I'd probably get one of the BDF variations.

I don't think it's, ultimately, the most protective soap, but it's good; it's slick; it's super easy to lather and rinses quickly and cleanly. These are all big advantages. Much to me depends on the day and the amount of hurriedness, and how much of a BBS shave I'm going to chase, given the amount of hurriedness. (You probably don't have the same concerns -- your someone who has said your favorite, MWF, is super easy to lather, at least. I don't know if you have a take on -- or care about -- "rinsability").

Thanks Wagstaff--I decided against. I am even happier with da Fat on this trip. i wanted to spend some money at Royal Shave, and he's got a great price on MWF, but i couldn't find enough product to justify a purchase.

i think I'll wait and maybe spend some bucks at Pasteur's next week in NYC.

Now, I went back to Royal Shave. I liked the MWF price so much, I bought a puck. I bought a small bar of MWF Bath Soap...My travel soap, Mike's is too soft, and this fits nicely into a WCS tin. A pack of Bolzano blades got me to the free shipping. I'm running through a lot of da Fat lately.
