My Guess... 3017

First 3017 kill! Dapper Dragon Green Dragon has met its end.
proxy.php
It had a few shaves on it, but went for a total of 27 shaves. I weighed it toward the end and it worked out to be 3.7g/ shave. Assuming the tub had 4ozs, the numbers line up. Overall not a bad soap, but not a stand out either. I'm not so sure I'd purchase again. A gram or 2 remained, but proved to be a hassle to load, so it was mashed on top of the next victim, Mystic Water Lily of the Valley pressed into my ceramic bowl.

Congrats on your first 3017 completion Gott543!
Feels good, doesn't it?

The hole in Trumper Violet gets bigger and the ring gets smaller, so getting a decent lather from it is getting harder and harder. Lather volume has been an issue these last few days. I may pitch the ring in the bin, rather than doggedly try to use up every last molecule of the soap.

I say pitch the ring. Life is too short for subpar lather, right?

Also, the 3017 Soap Dish is a go. I have the first production dish in hand, and we will be announcing it in the next week or two. Thanks to all of you for your patience on this. I started dangling this carrot more than a year ago, and I appreciate your not staking me to the ground, covering me in honey and letting a colony of fire ants loose.

This is a very cool thing that you are doing, thank you. Is this going to be a limited run, or will you be taking orders for a group buy?

I will pitch the ring. I've done my penance with this. It looks like we will have direct, individual orders, but we're working out logistics with Sara.

After a long day at work, the long awaited announcement of a production 3017 dish was exactly what I needed on this train ride back to the city.

Thank you again, Bob, for all you have done to make this tongue in cheek idea into a reality. Cannot wait to see the finished product!

Congrats @Gott543 on seeing it through to the end.

And that's great news beginish ! Hopefully it won't sell out in a matter of seconds and I'm able to snag one.

As for my 3017'ing I'm STILL trudging along killing off samples. I'm getting pretty tired of it after over a year.

How many samples have you finished off this year?

Looks like 53 since I started 6/10/15. I've probably got that many more to go but I'm going to have to take a break from the samples and use a full size product or 2 at some point or I'm going to go nuts.

The deed is done, as the thin Trumper's soap ring has been tossed. >7.5 months since the start, and I'll say 6.5 months of actual lathers. It took awhile, but I finally dialed it in, and got very good, slick lathers for the last 3.5 months or so. I have two more pucks in reserve (1 rose, 1 violet), but am in no hurry to use them. I am also jumping off the one brand for a year train.

I will now focus exclusively on using my cream stockpile until done, and the first one on the clock is a lightly used tube of Palmolive Rinfrescante with menthol. I could use it on days like today.

Yeah. Don't need a push to abandon that Trumper's train, do you? The only English soaps I have remaining are MWF and Trumper's Coconut. I won't return to them until I have finished all of my creams.

Hey guys, I started reading this a couple months ago and decided to give it a try. This is a great way to learn how to use a product and also become better at shaving. I would like to join the group if I may. Just started a new puck of Williams yesterday after killing off one a couple days ago, and after following the advice of using something consistently and learning how it works can actually get pretty good shaves out of it.

Finished off another Stirling Sample today. This one was MITA.
I hate to say it, but this was the first product from Stirling that fell short for me. Don't get me wrong, the performance was great, but the scent and menthol were just a little underwhelming for me. The wife didn't like it either, but she had bought a full puck because she thought she would. We will either use it or Pif it. Again great performance, but not the scent for us.
This is the first from Rod that is going on the do not restock list.
Taking a break from soaps right now to use a tube of bigelow while summer is still kickin here.
