My going nowhere movement to ban YMMV

Should we stop using YMMV?

  • Yes, it is insanely mind numbing to see it. YMMV

  • No, it is necessary so I do not get sued. YMMV

  • What was the question? YMMV

  • Art is King. YMWNV

The trouble with YMMV is that is needs a verb form. "I made sure to YMMV my review thread" is just too difficult to say. Might I humbly suggest using "burnwood" as the proper verb form moving forward, as in:

I made sure to burnwood my review thread.
He made sure to burnwood his review thread.
We made sure to burnwood our review thread.
They made sure to burnwood their review thread.

The past tense:

I burnwooded.
He burnwooded.
We burnwooded.
They burnwooded.

The present/past continuous:

I am/was burnwooding.
He is/was burnwooding.
We are/were burnwooding.
They are/were burnwooding.

I'll happily entertain suggestions for additional forms of this important new verb.

Of course, YMMV.

(Phew! Almost forgot to burnwood my own post!)

How much wood would a burnwood burn if a burnwood could burn wood.

Can we start a Ban to ban burnwood from banning YMMV. I would do it but I am a big dummy and don't know how. I am already on the list so you guys can PM me to stay off burnWood's list:001_smile

Why is it people do not stop at a stop sign?

Why do people feel they can cut in line ?

Why do people go thru a 20 items or less lane with 30+ items?!
Why do people named prewt post that here?

Beautiful use of the W there. Just great.
Well, I believe this is message #2864. I only need 136 more by Saturday to hit that 3000 and go on vacation.

Remember the movie, 1942? You know the part where the Japanese submarine crew is trying to find Hollywood? At one point they pick up a skinny dipping lady on their periscope and the one guy starts to shout out, "HollyVwooood! HollyVwooood!" That's what I think about with all this BurnWood stuff.

So the new verb should actually be BurnVwooood.

I might have to rewatch it to get the exact pronunciation. But you get the drift.

Remember the movie, 1942? ....
love that movie
except it's 1941
love the John Williams score, especially the main march.
great movie
especially Nancy Allen
and Susan Backlinie, who just so happens to be the first victim in Jaws, thus the similarity of the scene
and plenty of other Jaws talent showing up in Lorraine Gary & Murray Hamilton....also Christopher Lee, John Belushi (I'll get that duck!)
excellent movie, but of course
