My goatee "scuttle"

Perhaps some of you already know and do this but, I thought that I would share. This morning, it dawned on me that my goatee is a scuttle for touch-ups. To explain, just like most, my beard on the neck area features different patterns of growth in comparison with the rest of my face. As a result, several "touch-ups" can be called for after going WTG/ATG/XTG on any given shave.

I found that during these touch-ups, instead of going to the brush again using two fingers I simply touch my goatee that is already lathered and use that cream/soap to finish up those tiny areas that need shaving. This assists in feeling for those patches of malingering whiskers who want to miss the blade because they are part of a different growth pattern.

Nothing earth shattering here, just thought that I would share with others here who sport a goatee or partial beard.

It was there (goatee) doing nothing so I put it to work! :biggrin1:

I never thought of that. I sported a goatee for nearly 10 years, but lopped it off about 10 years ago because my facial hair started going gray really early...in my early 30's. I also wasn't a DE shaver then, just carts and goo. Oddly, all these years later I still only have one or two stray gray's on my head (which I still tweeze out, don't ask why because no one can see them), but when I let my beard grow out the area where my goatee was gets grayer and grayer. Not the rest of my beard though. Wonder if it has something to do with that hair being exposed all those years? I doubt it, but who knows why crap happens.

Anyhow, that's actually a great idea. You don't have to go back to the brush or keep some lather on your other hand, set the razor down and feel with your clean hand, pick up the razor again. Pretty neat.
