I found an old Dopp kit that might have been my grandfather’s, maybe an uncle in law’s. It’s a nice time capsule but the only thing salvageable beyond what look to be in ok shape DE blades is the Ever-Ready 150L (lucite).
the knot was done and crumbling in my hand, but pulled out of the handle easily by hand. the exterior gunk cleaned up with a toothbrush and soap. the black interior was the rubber the knot was set in and I had to clean it all out to get the new knot fitted. so I repainted it after debating leaving it clear.
I've now got a TGN Premium silvertip 18x60mm sitting in it at about 43mm loft right now with silicone. I may try it at 45mm. I just took it for a test drive and it's a lather machine. I got 4 passes worth of lather from Haslinger's Aloe Vera. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do with a stick. I may just have my perfect baby traveler to go with my Omega 40033.
