my first straight edge.

Today at work we had a secret santa type thing, and i got from my secret santa among other things a Krystal edge razor, i can hear a few of you shutter now, but its the thought behind it that counts right? im sure i wont be saying that after i attempt to shave with it and then go for my EJ de89l. So now i have to buy the stuff to keep up my straight edge, and im undecided if i should even attempt to hone it/have it honed and use it or just use it to practice honing and get another razor down the line. thoughts on what i should do with my new ...."treasure"?
