My first shave

First of all I just wanted to say hi to everybody here
My name is shane and I live in Plymouth, uk
Today I shaved for the first time ever [aged 14] as my chin hair was becoming far to long and easily noticable so I bought a phillips electric shaver from boots for only £15, it got rid of the hair very fast I am pleased with the results
thanks:thumbup:

Welcome to B&B.

The only problem with electric razors is, you don't get to use ultra-cool lather. Do what works for you, however.

welcome to the world of shaving! Soon it will be a chore you'll need to do everyday like most other men. To make it easier for you, I've got a gillette fusion and lots of canned goop...ahem...er...um...sensitive skin shave gel with aloe  ...that I'd be glad to sell on the cheap!

Welcome to B&B!

Welcome along Shane!
It's great to have you here and congratulations on your first shave. You'll probably have noticed from looking around that the guys on here tend to like more traditional shaving techniques. They use Double Edged (DE) or Single Edged (SE) bladed razors. Some like to use straight razors.

As a community we also like making a nice rich lather from good quality soaps and creams which you'll see lots of threads on too. (The term "wet shaving" implies that a lather is used as the face is shaved wet).
Theres no need to rush into this or any other way of shaving as you are only starting out but feel free to have a browse around and maybe give this wiki entry a read to understand more about the forum :

If you have any questions just ask or use the search button in the toolbar to look for an answer too.
Bear in mind that some of the guys on here may presume you are a little older, so if they start to tell you about all the things they think you should spend your money on just ignore them or send them over to me and I'll sort them out for ya! :thumbup1:

^^^ like this guy here!

Trust me, most guys on here would probably send your their canned goo (as we call it) for free just to get rid of it! In general a nice lather from a good proper shaving soap (it doesn't have to be pricey) is considered far better than "goo" from a can.
With an electric you won't need a lather but if you consider trying anything else just let us know and we'll be happy to guide you along! We range from your age right up to the old schoolers so there's a good mix of people on here and the forum prides itself on being polite and considerate too.
