My first restoration attempt

This is a 5/8 Genco I originally bought from Leighton. Overall it was in good shape, only a couple of pits on the blade itself although the shank and tang had some pitting. It had green plastic scales when I got it. I tried to put a mirror finish on the blade and got close, but there are still some light scratches on it. When sanding the tang with 320 grit I wiped the Genco engraving right off the tang before I even realized it. I didn't think I was being very aggressive, but obviously it did not take much. I made the scales out of Ziricote and finished with CA glue. It probably could have used another coat or 2 of CA glue, especially on the edges. Overall I don't think I did too bad for my first time, maybe a B or B- on a A to F scale. Of course tomorrow morning will be the real test when I shave with it for the first time after honing and stropping. I am disappointed I managed to wipe the Genco logo off though. Any constructive criticism or other feedback would be welcomed!
