Well I took the plunge, and sent my 1918 Pocket Set Ball End Old Type in to a local plating company. I bought the whole Pocket Set on the Bay for $30 and some change, and it looked pretty rough. The Patina was so thick I had to strip all the plating off of all of it. Then I had the latch repaired by a good friend who knows how to do that sort of thing, and while he was at it I had him epoxy the crack in the handle. Then my Better Half and I rebuilt the trays and relined them. Now I feel like an expectant first time father in the waiting room waiting for news of the birth. The plating company said I will hear from them in a week. So I wait expectantly. This restoration project is my first one. I hope it turns out as well as the rest of it did. The razor will be plated in polished Nickel. I just wanted to share about my pet project. Thanks for listening. I'll try to post some pic's somehow soon

I'm sorry gentlemen, I cannot figure out how to upload photos from my iPhone. I realize I'm not very computer literate. If someone could instruct me? I don't even have a regular computer. I'm sorry.
Save the pic to your camera roll if its not there already. Then, within the post, choose the icon that looks like a picture, the 'from computer' tab, click the 'choose file', hit 'choose existing', then hit upload file.
