I won a Taylor 1000 from ebay and got it today. It looked fine with only some dark spots. Worked first with a drill attached to a flexible extension with wire brush and sanded it with 180 sanding paper attached to a Fein tool.
The rest and most of the work was manual with sand paper 280, 400, 600, 1000, 2000 and than a really good polish cream that worked nicely on an old stainless pot. Luckily, this razor was in good shape and I didn't need to remove the scales.
I'm going to hone it tomorrow and hopefully give it a try during the weekend.
