My First Coffee Roast with a Nesco

I read somewhere the expected life of a home roaster is about 18 months. I'm not sure where though. My Behmor is coming up on 2 years with no problems.

I just ordered a second. I smelled smoke, and when I got to the kitchen, the screw wasn't turning. That makes about 34 months at probably 4 times a week, which is over 500 batches. Was considering a HotTop, but that means creating a dedicated roasting area with hood, duct, and a window fan, which requires a bit of thinking... so I decided to just get back online quickly.

The old one goes on the hobby bench as a future project. Right behind the 40 year old 220vac receiver I "inherited" in the hallway from someone cleaning out the apartment of a dearly departed neighbor.

I just realized... I could've scraped the mess out of the container and it'd be just like starbucks.

Great review. I am waiting on delivery of my first home roaster. I am excited to start this journey.
