What's new

My first antique store razor purchase

I got all this for $20. The two razors are in very good shape. No bent parts. Completely functional. The Old Spice mug and bottle are for decoration. I'm going to try and transfer "new" Old Spice into the bottle. I'll use the mug to hold blades, styptic, alum, etc.

Overall I'm very pleased with my first find.

great score.

NOS old spice soap comes up on the bay pretty often if youre interested in filling that mug

Nice find! You may want to reconsider storing blades AND alum/styptic in the same container. There are other threads that mention that storing your alum and metal together will increase corrosion.

Which version of the 1912 is that SE?
+1 on the personna/gem blades at walgreens. I use the heck out of them.
Enjoy you catch!

Nice score! I love those Old Spice shaving mugs. Something about that ship on the side sends me off to work in a good mood.

Very nice score. If I am not mistaken that is a mug from the first year of production.

Yup. The first year of the glass mugs made by Wheaton. The absence of the internal ribbing verifies that fact. Earlier pottery mugs were made by Hull, though.

I have no idea. I'm new to SEs. I don't find any numbers on it. It says

GEM
Junior

on the back, and

GEM
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
MADE IN USA

under the lid.

Also it is all brass. Doesn't look like it was ever plated.
