What's new

My favorite roasting house in Brooklyn.

For all the B&B coffee brewers in the Brooklyn, NY area, I want to give a shout out to my favorite local roaster.

Kos Cafe' roasting house- 251 5th ave in Park Slope. I'm now buying all of my beans there. They roast in small batches a couple times a week, and usually offer 3 or 4 different varieties that change every few weeks. Lots of tasty, unusual beans. Last week I got some great Peruvian ones, this week I bought a great one from Bali. The prices are great (around $6 for a half pound, depending on the beans)...and all the roasts I've tried have been fantastic and fresh.

If you're in the area, give them a try!

Happy brewing,

Zap

Have you tried Cafe Grumpy?

I have tried them. Their beans are good, and VERY expensive. They have lots of unusual, high quality roasts, but I don't prefer their beans over Kos Cafe,' especially for the price. Keep in mind, I'm talking about the beans sold a these places, not the coffee served. For coffee served, Grumpy would win hands down.
